07/25/2011 - Assault - 11750 Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax, VA, United States

Fairfax County police say a man is now suspected in nine cutting cases at retail stores in the area. All of the victims have been women in their late teens or early 20s. The man is believed to be using a box cutter or razor to slash the victims' buttocks. Police originally suspected the man in five cases, but additional victims have come forward who didn't initially report their cases to police. In several cases only the woman's clothing was cut, said Officer Shelley Broderick, a Fairfax County police spokeswoman. The cuttings have occurred at these locations: * July 25, Fair Oaks Mall, at Forever XXI * June 20, Greenbriar Shopping Center, at Marshall's * June 18, Tysons Corner Mall, at H&M * June 8, Fairfax Towne Center, at T.J. Maxx * May 16, Fair Oaks Mall, at Ann Taylor * March 11, Tysons Corner Center, at H&M * February 14, Fair Oaks Mall, near Champs * February, Fair Oaks Mall * February, Fair Oaks Mall The suspect is described as Hispanic, in his late 20s, about 5-foot-6 and having a heavy build.
