Shooting on 6XX SOUTH WICKHAM STREET, BALTIMORE, MD, MD

12/22/2009. Baltimore City police are investigating the murder of a soldier on leave from Afghanistan. As Mary Bubala reports, 22-year-old Clifford Williams had been out shopping when he was ambushed and killed. Private Clifford Williams survived violence in Afghanistan to make it home for the holidays, but it's here, on the streets of Baltimore, where violence caught up with him. Police say Williams was returning from Shopper's Grocery Store in Catonsville in Catonsville when a gunman fired several rounds into the side of his SUV. "An unknown suspect approached the car, fired numerous rounds into the driver's side window of the car, striking the victim," said Anthony Guglielmi, Baltimore City Police. Somehow after being shot, Private Williams was able to drive for a few blocks, heading closer to his home. He stopped his car in the 600 block of South Wickham Street in southwest Baltimore, but police are struggling to figure out where the original crime scene. View Source.
