Shooting on 86XX COLESVILLE ROAD, SILVER SPRING, MD

11/02/2009 05:55 PM. Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a shooting that occurred this evening in front of the Gold’s Gym in Silver Spring. At approximately 5:55 p.m., officers from the 3rd District responded to the outside entrance area of Gold’s Gym, located at 8661 Colesville Road in Silver Spring, for the report of a shooting that had just occurred. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 25-year-old male victim left the Gold’s Gym and was walking along the sidewalk when he was approached by two suspects. They attempted to rob the victim, but the victim fought them off. No property was obtained. The suspects shot the victim in the leg above the knee. That bullet entered and exited his left leg and entered the mid part of his right leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The first suspect is described as a black male, 6’ tall, 130 pounds, bald with a beard and side burns. He was wearing a puffy coat, white t-shirt and was armed with a handgun. The second suspect is described as a black male, clean-shaven, wearing a hat and a gray-hooded sweatshirt. He had a tear-drop tattoo on his face.
