ATTEMPTED RAPE: A 20-year-old Wilmington man is being sought after he allegedly tried to rape a woman early Friday while she was walking through Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park. The suspect has been identified as Lyndon Ramsey, who lives in the 300 block of E. Second Street. Wilmington police detective Lt. Clayton Smith said the 37-year-old victim was walking through the park about 2:15 a.m. when she was approached from behind by a man in the area of Rosa Parks Drive and South Market Street. The man pushed her to the ground and tried to remove her clothes, Smith said. The victim fought off her attacker and was able to escape after being punched in the face several times. She was taken to Christiana Hospital and treated for minor injuries. Police are asking anyone with information on Ramsey's whereabouts to call Detective Malcolm Stoddard at 576-3641 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
