Man fatally shot in Jersey City housing complex by The Star-Ledger Continuous News Desk Sunday March 30, 2008, 4:08 PM A 23-year-old Jersey City man was killed early this morning in the hallway of the Montgomery Gardens public housing complex in the city, the Jersey Journal reports. Michael Williams, 23, of Union Street, was standing with a group of men just inside the entrance to the building around 2:15 a.m., when a man entered and shot Williams at close range, once in the back and once in the head, Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio told the Jersey Journal. A bullet grazed one other man in the group, who was treated at Jersey City Medical Center and released.
