Police have not released the identities of the two suspects or the three victims in the shooting, which police say happened shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, outside the Real de Minas Grill at 11101 E. Colfax Ave. Witnesses told police a fight broke out in the parking lot and that some of the people involved in the fight got in a car and left, according to police. Someone in the car then fired a gun at the crowd in the parking lot, wounding three of them, police said. When officers arrived, they found three people wounded by gunfire and another man who sustained blunt trauma to the head. Officers in the area pulled over a car near East 12th Avenue and Alton Street a few minutes later that matched the description of the vehicle involved in the shooting, police said. Police detained all five people in the vehicle. Officers later charged one of the five men with attempted first-degree murder and another with being an accessory to first-degree murder. The other three were released.
