Two masked men -- one with a gun -- walked into two students' Newark apartment early Wednesday to rob them but fled empty handed. The incident occurred at 3:10 a.m. in the 100 block of E. Park Place, said Lt. Brian Henry of Newark police. The victims, identified as a 19-year-old Delaware Technical & Community College man and a 19-year-old University of Delaware woman, were in the living room when the intruders walked in through an unlocked door. Henry said a heavy-set armed man demanded money from the male resident, who didn't have any. The two intruders then ran out of the house. Police said the suspects may have been looking for the proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs. Henry said officers discovered marijuana plants in the home and confiscated them. The male resident had sold marijuana in the past, Henry said.
