Robbery - 2XX NORTH SHACKLEFORD ROAD, LITTLE ROCK, AR, UNITED STATES
2008-09-17Officers responded to a robbery in progress call at the Waffle House located at 201 N. Shackleford and observed a black male with a gun inside the business. As officers were taking up positions, the suspect fired his handgun inside the business, and then exited out the front door. Officers ordered the suspect to drop his weapon, but he refused. The officers, who feared for their safety, as well as the safety of civilians, shot the suspect as he attempted to flee while holding the handgun. The suspect, Mario Collins, was taken into custody and it was then discovered that he had sustained a gunshot wound to his buttocks. After taking items from four people, as well as the business, Collins fled out the door where he was met by officers. No one inside the business was injured in the incident. Collins was transported to Baptist Hospital and treated, then released and transported to the Downtown Detective Division where he was charged with 11 counts of Aggravated Robbery, 5 counts Theft of Property and 1 count Aggravated Assault. |
